A diploma from an electrical engineer and in his pocket the "keys" of the parking lot of the Palms Beach Hotel in Kuwait City. But also from the World Financial Center in Chonqing, China, or dozens of other parking spaces around the world. Because Carlo Galli, 45, from Cantù, with his small business and together with his two partners, became gradually the leader in automatic parking systems, patenting a component that allows to minimize spaces and environmental impact.
Galli started working in the electrical sector at an early age. Originally from Seregno, he moved to Cantù, in the province of Como, and soon joined his father-in-law's firm, also taking care of plumbing. In 1997, however, he decided to work as freelancer and he founded the CMS Elettrica and with two friends, Maurizio Faivo and Simone Zappa.
Two years later, the first major order for the lighting systems of Malpensa 2000. In 2002 he got in touch with a Poggibonsi company that designed automatic parking lots. "Back then, a computerized system capable of stowing the machines by itself seemed science-fiction," says Galli. We started to collaborate and in the beginning only entrusted us with the electric part. But I attended courses and in a couple of years, thanks to the trust that I had earned, I also entrusted the mechanical part. For years we have collaborated with the major parking companies. The business was going very well and so, in 2011-12, we decided to try".
Galli and his partners and friends create together a company that designs and manufactures automatic parking systems from A to Z. "Thanks to a special component that we have patented worldwide - he explains - a sort of trolley that embraces the car, just enter a code, leave the car at the entrance to the parking lot and a computerized system will park it. In the same space, compared to normal parking, we can stow almost twice as many cars. It was not always easy, especially because we clashed with the giants of the sector, but in the end the commitment and professionalism have paid off and we are proud of it ".
ParkPiù has created automatic parking lots all over the world, from a thousand places in the World Financial Center in China - where Italian Consulate General recently visited by President Mattarella is based - at the Palm Beach Hotel in Kuwait: three towers of thirty meters each , which move on tracks, moving up to 450 cars. Passing through India, England, Germany, Argentina and soon Romania. But also from Milan and Rome with the rebuilding of the "Smart Tower". "Our strong point - concludes Galli - is the restructuring of existing automatic systems and maintenance 24 hours a day. The experience accumulated over many years and the craftsman know-how has allowed us to be researched all over the world. This is the Made in Italy for me ".
